More and more, churches are choosing to remodel their existing structures rather than build new buildings. The church may have maximized what can be built at their existing location, may want to add an updated gathering area, or simply desires to have a place to offer a different worship experience. Regardless of their reason, many churches are discovering the benefits of Enhancing their Existing Environments.
Second Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC
Challenges/Goals: Second Baptist Church needed a children's space that was functional and relevant to today's kids. They needed to move from a traditional multi-classroom setting to an new large group environment that was heavy in technology, colorful, fast moving, interactive, fun and safe! Solution: Ecclesia Construction developed a themed space with plasma TVs that included a praise bank area with an full audio system and an appropriate area for the puppet ministry to deliver the message each week. This new environment also included an outside area where parents could watch as well as learn and enjoy themselves. End Results: Now, new kids are learning of this space from kids currently attending Second Baptist. The new kids are asking their parents to bring them to the church- and they love learning the Word of God in a fun, interesting and safe environment. The adult congregation has actually grown because of the children's desire to attend Second Baptist's Children's Ministry. |
